Abstract
In this case, students are introduced to corporate takeover agreements through the example of Skeena Resources Limited’s 2016 acquisition of Sona Resources Corporation and, subsequently, Sona’s Blackdome Gold Mine. The case describes the financial, technological, and logistic factors that led to the development of a takeover agreement and process through which Sona was acquired by Skeena, as well as the resulting impact of this incorporation on the local Tahltan Nation.
